Documents and preparation: France → Colombia

Preparation combines the departure country’s health documents with the ICA inspection request. On arrival, the documents and animal are checked before the CIS is issued.

Ask your vet and the DDPP/DDETSPP responsible for your address about the certificate, official endorsement and appointment. Spanish CEXGAN processing does not apply to a French departure.

  • Prepare the inspection request and CIS payment through SISPAP; carry printed receipts. If travelling with a dog and a cat, submit separate applications by species.
  • Original health certificate issued or endorsed by the official departure authority within ten days before entry, with identification and fitness to travel.
  • Internal and external parasite treatment within the previous 60 days, recording product, active substance and date.
  • Minimum age 15 weeks, current rabies vaccination and 21 days after primary vaccination. Check the ICA vaccine schedule for dogs or cats, including batch numbers and dates.
  • Present the animal and documents at the arrival ICA office for inspection and CIS issue. Confirm the entry point, opening hours, breed restrictions and current payment conditions.

Dogs and cats: individual preparation

Species, breed, age, health, weight and carrier dimensions affect the options. PETC means travel in the cabin; AVIH means carriage in the conditioned hold on the accompanying traveller’s flight. We propose an option only when the operating airline accepts that animal and itinerary.

What should I prepare for the return to the EU?
