Pet travel from Thailand to Germany

We coordinate departure from Thailand, entry documentation for Germany and accompanied-travel options. Before confirming a journey, we assess the animal, itinerary and preparation schedule.

In the cabin or aircraft hold

PETC means travel in the cabin; AVIH means travel in the aircraft hold with an accompanying traveller on the same flight. The airline must accept the pet and itinerary.

Documents and preparation for entry into Germany

Departure from Thailand and entry into the European Union involve separate procedures. Before booking, we review identification, rabies vaccination, antibody testing and the applicable preparation periods. An EU pet passport may support certain return journeys when it documents compliance; it does not automatically replace the paperwork for a first entry.

For direct entry into Germany from Thailand, check the authorised airport or port and presentation of the animal to customs. Tell us the breed and destination town so any applicable restrictions and arrival arrangements can be reviewed; landing in Germany alone is not enough.

  • Microchip and documents consistently identifying the animal, owner and accompanying traveller.
  • Valid rabies vaccination, antibody testing at a designated laboratory and preparation periods appropriate to the animal’s records.
  • Health certification and an export permit issued or endorsed by the competent Thai authority.
  • An EU-entry health certificate or an admissible passport for re-entry, with the required declarations and authorisations.
  • An authorised entry point, airline acceptance and any additional destination-country requirements.

Dogs and cats: individual preparation

Species, breed, age, health and carrier dimensions affect the options. We assess PETC in the cabin or AVIH in the hold with an accompanying person on the same flight; the operating airline must accept the animal and itinerary. Where an authorised person travels with the pet, we review their authorisation and its connection with the owner’s journey.

First EU entry point and final destination

Document and identity checks are planned for the first EU entry point, even when another flight or a ground transfer follows. The map is illustrative and does not represent a confirmed direct connection. For Germany, we review the entry point and national requirements, including restrictions affecting the entry of certain dogs. Frankfurt, Munich or another city depend on the feasible itinerary.

Questions before you travel

Answers to common questions about documents, preparation and accompanied travel.

Can my pet travel immediately after vaccination?

Do not assume so. Travel from Thailand may require rabies antibody testing and preparation periods extending over several months. We review the dates and records before proposing travel.

Is first entry the same as returning to the EU?

Not always. A pet with an admissible passport and a valid antibody test documented before leaving the EU may have a different re-entry file. Documentary evidence and uninterrupted vaccination validity must be checked.

Can a professional accompany my pet?

We assess accompanied options and check whether the movement meets the applicable conditions. The accompanying person’s authorisation and the owner’s journey must be reviewed; entry rules cannot be bypassed.

Should I book the flight before contacting you?

It is better to review documents, preparation periods, the carrier and airline acceptance first. A request does not confirm availability or a booking.

Can I give a different departure or arrival city?

Yes. Give the actual departure point in Thailand and the final destination. The map is illustrative: it does not limit the service to a capital or confirm a direct flight.
